A phase converter is a device that converts electric power from a single phase to multiple phases or vice versa. Most phase converters produce three-phase electric power from a single-phase source, This allows the operation of three-phase equipment at a site that only has single-phase electrical service. Phase converters are used in situations where the utility does not have a three-phase service or it is too costly to install due to a remote location. A utility will generally charge a higher fee for a three-phase service. Lithium Ion Batteries
If you want to know whether the ATO phase converter can be converted into three-phase, first, you have to know their definition: Single-phase power is a transmission mode consisting of single live and neutral wires. The single-phase voltage is 220 volts. There will be a third wire (ground wire) if necessary. Three-phase power is composed of three alternating current potentials with the same frequency, equal amplitude, and 120 degrees of phase difference. A generator with equal amplitude, frequency, and 120-degree phase difference is called a three-phase generator. A three-phase power supply circuit is called a three-phase circuit. The three phases are U, V, and W and the line voltage between the phases is 380V. The voltage between the phase and the center line, the phase voltage, which is 220V.
Difference between single-phase electricity and three-phase electricity:
A single-phase power supply is converted to a three-phase power supply using SPWM (sinusoidal pulse width modulation) modulation control technology, to convert ordinary single-phase electric industrial three-phase electricity.
The three-phase power supply after single-phase to three-phase power conversion is a standard sine wave with a phase angle of 120-degree and a harmonic distortion rate of less than 2 per cent, which fully meets the power quality standards for three-phase power and is suitable for all types of loads.
Two methods to turn a single phase into a three-phase:
The variable frequency drive converts direct current into alternating current is called an inverter. Using this inverter, you can convert single-phase 220V AC mains into 380V AC voltage. This is a convenient method to implement. The equipment comprises a bridge rectifier circuit, filter circuit, microprocessor logic control circuit (some with PWM pulse-width modulation technology), inverter bridge output circuit, and other parts. Its working principle is through the strict microprocessor control of six high-power insulated gate transistors by the three-phase sine wave in turn conduction output three-phase alternating current.
A phase converter can also convert single-phase electricity into three-phase electrical output. You can consider achieving this method if you only have a three-phase motor and no three-phase power supply. The three-phase voltage output by this converter is lower than 380V. When using the load, we should pay attention to it. When it is working, the output voltage of the multimeter is about 230V.
